The alert warns of very cold weather and the risk of ice and freezing fog. Low temperatures can be dangerous, especially for the very young or very old or those with chronic disease. Newcastle Mental Health Day 06/10/2012Newcastle Mental Health Day will take place on Saturday 6th October, 2012 at Grey’s Monument in Newcastle city centre. Following successful World Mental Health Day events in the city over several years a very broad range of organisations and charities based in and around Newcastle have again come together in order to bring the issue of mental health to the forefront. The day will combine information and family entertainment. There will be stalls from organisations in the City that works in mental health, from service user-run groups to the NHS, to let people know about the wide range of mental health help, support and information on offer in Newcastle. The day will feature bands, jive/lindy-hop dancers, belly dancers, capoeira, smoothie bikes,and lots more, all to attract attention to mental health, to tackle stigma, to promote ways to wellbeing, and to have a good time. Established in 1997, the BMA Patient Information Awards aim to encourage the production and dissemination of accessible, well-designed and clinically balanced patient information. The awards are a great way for information producers to showcase their work and receive recognition of their hard work and dedication in producing excellent information resources. ‘Sleeping Problems’ is one of a range of Self Help Guides produced by the Patient Information Centre. All Guides can be downloaded free of charge from our website.
