Get Involved
We became an NHS Foundation Trust on 1st December 2009.
We believe this way of operating will bring real benefits for staff, service users, carers, stakeholders and the local community. As a Foundation Trust we will:
- Work closely with local people to decide how best to improve services
- Have more freedom to develop services to meet local needs
- Have greater freedom to manage our finances to improve local services
Like other NHS Foundation Trusts, we still need local people to join us and become members. Membership is free to everyone over 14 years living in England or Wales. Click here if you would like to know more about the benefits of becoming a member.
Alternatively, you may wish to speak to someone about membership. You can use any of the following ways to get in touch with us, we’ll be more than happy to help you.
We initially appointed our Council of Governors in November 2009 for a three year term of office and successfully appointed a further four Governors into vacant positions in March 2011. At the end of 2012, obligatory Governor Elections were held to re-elect or elect new Governors, for a further three years, to November 2015. As a member you might wish to consider standing in the future as and when places become available. We see governors as one of the ways of working more closely with the people and the areas we serve.
