I am a physician from India with training and experience in psychological medicine (psychiatry) and neurology. My special interests are in neuropsychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. I have experience seeing children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
I practice integrative mind body medicine using the bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model of health and the transformative care model of healthcare. I offer medical consultations, individual counselling and brief psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, family counselling and therapy, lifestyle management, exercise and natural therapies, diet and nutrition counselling, biofeedback, yoga and mindfulness-based therapy. I have been an invited speaker in various forums.
I have about 20 years’ experience working in hospitals, community health services, public health projects and clinics. I have experience in governmental and non-governmental organizations, charitable and private healthcare services. I have worked in healthcare services in urban and rural regions in India, the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom and government hospitals in the Russian Federation. I have also taken up short or long-term community health projects.
I have published 14 scientific articles in peer reviewed English language journals, contributed two chapters to text books and co-authored a book on teaching social emotional skills to young children titled “Fifi’s Fit to Feel Fine Activity Book”. I have senior level administrative experience, informal teaching experience and some research experience. I am currently registered for a PhD in Medical Science. I like cycling, nature and wildlife exploration and activism. I am married to Rajalakshmi, a psychotherapist and homeopath specializing in treating children with neurodevelopmental issues.
