I am a Consultant Psychiatrist with Newcastle Memory Assessment and Management Service (MAMS) and Newcastle North-East Community Mental Health Team.
Teaching and training is an integral part of my role and I am always keen to encourage students and junior doctors with an interest in old age mental health. I am accredited as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, 2011) and have a formal role as Tyne Base Unit Lead for Mental Health
co-ordinating medical student psychiatry teaching in the Tyne Base Unit, Newcastle University. I am a clinical and educational supervisor for F2 Doctors.
I actively support the NTW strategy to increase patient access to research and am involved with commercial and non-commercial clinical trials in Dementia, funded by North-East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network and Newcastle University’s BRC Dementia Unit.
