I am a Consultant in a Regional, tertiary care specialist Neuropsychiatry Service and am clinical lead for Specialist Huntington’s Disease Service in the North East of England. I have a keen interest in clinical management of neuropsychiatric presentation of Brain injury.
I provide genetic counseling and predictive genetic testing for Huntington’s Disease and familial dementias as part of the Northern Genetics Service based at Centre for Life. I am Huntington’s Disease specialty lead for the North East and North Cumbria Clinical Research Network (CRN) and forms national portfolio management group for Huntington’s Disease.
I am an Executive committee member in Neuropsychiatry faculty at Royal College of Psychiatrists and am the Regional Specialty Representative (RSR) for Neuropsychiatry in the North East of England. My role comprises clinical management, teaching and research.
At Walkergate Park, I am currently principal investigator for various multinational observational and experimental studies in Huntington’s Disease.
I teach Neuropsychiatry module in MRCPsych course for core trainees in the Northern Deanery.
My interests are brain behavior relationships and pathological cognitive and behavioral changes due to altered Neural circuitry in the brain.
