I trained in Medicine in the UK at Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital. I worked in General Medicine and then specialised in Psychiatry, training in Norwich and Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have worked as a Consultant in Norwich, UK, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria where I was a Medical Director of Orygen Youth Health, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health.
I am currently working part time as a Consultant to the Sunderland Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service within Northumberland Tyne & Wear (NTW) NHS Foundation Trust I am Regional Early Intervention (EI) Clinical Lead for Psychiatry for NHS England (North). I am also Lead for the NTW Academic Clinical Collaboration for Psychosis and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Neuroscience at Newcastle University.
I am a Fellow of the UK and Australian Colleges of Psychiatrists, the International Society for Affective Disorders and a Member of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, the International Association for Youth Mental Health and the International Early Psychosis Association.
